Lightspeed Commerce on board with 2027 ASICS Los Angeles Marathon

Lightspeed Commerce is Official POS Partner of the 2027 ASICS Los Angeles Marathon

The McCourt Foundation, the non-profit organisation behind the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon, has announced Lightspeed Commerce as the Official POS Software Platform Partner for the 2027 event. The unified omnichannel platform will also serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the marathon’s Virtual Swag Bag.

The collaboration aims to engage small businesses and entrepreneurs within the running community, including specialised retailers and service providers. Lightspeed, which is dual-listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange, provides commerce tools for retail, golf, and hospitality businesses in over 100 countries.

As part of the agreement, Lightspeed will power the Virtual Swag Bag, which provides runners with exclusive offers from sponsors and lifestyle expo vendors. The company will also have a physical presence at the expo held at Dodger Stadium on March 5-6, 2027.

Karen O’Connell, Head of Sponsorship at The McCourt Foundation, said “The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon represents the ultimate intersection of endurance and community. Lightspeed builds the tools that allow businesses to run faster and smarter, and we are thrilled for Lightspeed to bring that same energy to the streets of LA in support of both the athletes and the local businesses that fuel them.”

On race day, March 7, 2027, the partnership will include the Lightspeed Branded Mile, an on-course activation designed to motivate runners as they approach the finish line near the Avenue of the Stars.

Mike Ganci, Managing Director of North American Retail for Lightspeed, said “Retailers serving the running community need to operate with speed, precision, and consistency; whether in-store, online, or on race weekend. Lightspeed brings those capabilities together in a single platform, and we’re excited to support The McCourt Foundation in helping these businesses scale and perform at their best.”

The 2027 ASICS Los Angeles Marathon expects to welcome over 26,000 runners to its 26.2 mile Stadium-to-the-Stars Course. The race is the final event in the Conquer LA Challenge, which also includes the Santa Monica Classic and the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K.

The McCourt Foundation was established in 1992 and focuses on curing neurological diseases. Since its inception, the foundation has donated more than US$7.2 million to neurology research and generated over US$80 million for its non-profit charity partners.
