Brooks signs on as official footwear and apparel partner of the Phoenix Marathon

Inaugural Phoenix Marathon

The Phoenix Marathon has announced a new two-year partnership with Brooks Running, designating the brand as the Official Footwear and Apparel Partner of the event.

The agreement follows the inaugural running of the marathon in late 2025 and will see performance running brand Brooks spearhead new activations at the race expo and finish line festival. Beyond the race weekend, which returns on December 12, 2026, both Brooks and the event organiser have committed to year-round engagements designed to support the local running community.

A key focus of the partnership is the elevation of local retail partners, such as Sole Sports, which has operated in the Phoenix area since 2007.

Phil Dumontet, CEO of Brooksee – the company that produces the Phoenix Marathon – said “After being embraced by the local community during the launch of the Phoenix Marathon last year, the running industry has taken notice and is putting its support behind the event. Brooks Running will play a key role in the legacy we’re building here in Phoenix.”

Ed Riegert, Director of North America Retail – Events Marketing at Brooks Running, said “The Phoenix Marathon is an excellent partner in helping us support local race organisations as they continue to gain momentum, and we look forward to building in the years to come.”

The partnership announcement comes after a sold-out inaugural event that hosted more than 7,200 registered runners from all 50 US states and over 12 countries internationally. The race weekend offers three distances: a marathon, a half marathon, and a 10K, with the course touring through the city of Phoenix.

Brooksee, founded in 2012, produces a portfolio of US-based road races including the Las Vegas Marathon, Portland Marathon, and the Mesa Marathon. The company is noted for its focus on Boston Marathon qualifying courses, recently securing four of the top 10 spots on FindMyMarathon.com’s independent rankings for 2025.

Brooks Running, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is headquartered in Seattle, WA. It has been developing performance footwear and apparel since 1914 and currently distributes its products worldwide.

Registration for the December 12, 2026, edition of the Phoenix Marathon is currently open, with organisers expecting the event to reach capacity once again.
