Mizuno has entered the high-performance ‘super trail’ category with the launch of the Mizuno Neo Accera. Designed specifically for the demands of 100-mile ultra-endurance racing, the shoe introduces nitrogen-infused midsole technology to the brand’s trail line-up for the first time.
The Neo Accera is the result of a development cycle that began in 2024, incorporating feedback from the Mizuno France Trail team. Mizuno notes that the shoe has already been validated at the highest level of competition, notably by athlete Matis Leray, who secured a 4th-place finish at the 145km UTMB TDS while wearing a single pair for the duration of the 20-hour race.
The shoe is engineered to balance high energy return with the long-term durability required for technical terrain.
- Midsole Innovation: Features a nitrogen-infused top midsole (MIZUNO ENERZY NXT) for soft cushioning and high energy return. This is paired with an EVA-based bottom layer to ensure stability over long distances.
- Outsole & Protection: Equipped with a Vibram Megagrip outsole for superior traction on wet and uneven surfaces, supported by a built-in rock plate to protect against sharp debris.

As part of Mizuno’s ‘Crew21’ sustainability commitment, the shoe incorporates recycled materials in the upper and modular components to reduce its environmental footprint without compromising technical performance.
