The fifth edition of Trail Cat The Race will take place from October 11–17, 2026, starting in central Andorra la Vella, Andorra, at 12:00 CEST on October 11, 2026.
The 290-mile unmarked race covers a 466km route with 17,800m of elevation gain, connecting Andorra, France, and Catalonia on its way to Tarragona, Spain.
Crossing high mountain areas to Mediterranean terrain, the semi-self-sufficient course passes through more than 10 comarques (counties) in Catalonia. Participants must navigate using an official GPS route and pass through mandatory checkpoints. The event includes three main support bases for food and rest, alongside four light-support refreshment points, with the clock running continuously throughout the race.
Dani Buyo, Race Director at Trail Cat The Race, said “We are pleased to have made this human adventure a reality in our territory. It is a home-to-home journey connecting the two places I consider home across three countries.”
Buyo added “Mental endurance will make the difference between finishing the challenge or not.”
Featured runners on the start line include Pirin Galov, Eugeni Rosselló, and Luca Papi. The event is organised with support from institutional partners including the Delegació del Govern de Catalunya a Andorra, the Conselleria General d’Esports de Catalunya, the Comú d’Andorra la Vella, and the Mairie de Porta.
Saturday, October 17, 2026, will also feature 50-mile and 25-mile race options starting and finishing in Tarragona, Spain. Across all three distance categories, the event has attracted a hardcore of 219 registered participants.
Trail Cat The Race is part of the international TORX eXperience series, connecting the event to the Tor des Géants ultra-distance race. Running shoe brand Mount to Coast serves as the official technical partner for the 2026 Trail Cat event.
