Wattbike has announced the direct-to-consumer (D2C) international launch of the Wattbike Air-Pro, an indoor bike designed for home training.
The new model is an evolution of the company’s Pro/Trainer platform and is already utilised across professional sport, gyms and performance facilities. The launch brings the conditioning tool into the home environment for athletes and fitness users to train, test, condition and recover.
The D2C launch comes ahead of a major summer of international football, a sport where Nottingham-based Wattbike has established links. The company’s indoor bikes are used by more than 100 professional football clubs, including every Premier League team and the FA training centre at St George’s Park. Through the subscription-free Wattbike Hub app, users can access sports-specific structured workouts, including plans designed by professional coaches to support football conditioning.
Stephen Loftus, Chief Executive Officer at Wattbike, said “Air-Pro builds on the legacy of the Wattbike Pro/Trainer, a platform that has been trusted for years in the environments where performance matters most – from elite sport and professional training facilities to commercial gyms. After launching Air-Pro into those environments last year, we’re now bringing that same capability into the home for serious competitors and committed fitness users who want a reliable way to train with purpose, measure progress and support recovery.”
The indoor bike combines dual air and magnetic resistance, performance tracking, commercial-grade durability and a Performance Touch Screen (PTS2).
According to the company, customer research highlighted the product’s real-ride feel as one of its most valued features, delivering a natural ride quality.
Key features of the indoor bike include:
- Dual air and magnetic resistance to provide scalable intensity for sprint, endurance, recovery and high-volume training
- A performance touchscreen offering access to training, testing and performance feedback
- Performance tracking to measure output, progress and training intensity
- Low-impact conditioning to support performance, recovery and rehabilitation while reducing joint stress
