US apparel specialist Primal is expanding its bicycle advocacy support for 2012 with a new sponsorship deal for the annual Alliance for Biking & Walking Leadership Retreat.
In early September, advocacy leaders from around the US will meet in Long Beach, California, for an annual retreat, a key event for discussing, developing and continuing best practices and campaigns that advocate for pedestrians and cyclists.
Primal’s sponsorship includes custom VIP jackets for all attendees and financial support totalling US$25,000.
The leadership retreat is the latest sponsorship for the Denver-based cycling apparel company, which is an active supporter of bicycle advocacy groups including Bikes Belong, the League of American Bicyclists, International Mountain Bicycling Association and Adventure Cycling Association. Primal is a sponsor of many events throughout Colorado and also supports the Sea Otter Classic and Bicycle Leadership Conference with high-level sponsorships.

The four-day retreat is comprised of workshops ranging from issues facing community bicycle organizations to advocate staffing concerns and how to diversify the pedestrian and bicycling movements across the US. The retreat offers information tailored to both advanced and start-up advocacy organizations.
