National governing body Triathlon Ireland (TI) has announced the country’s National Series and National Championships for 2013.
To be a part of the National Series or Championships, races submitted applications to TI in October. Along with the applications the organisation received, a number of other criteria were also looked at. These included factors such as:
- Geography
- Time in the season
- Only 1 National Series race on a weekend
- Ratio of Sprint/Standard/Middle Distance races
- Any outstanding fees due to TI
- Number competitors the race is able to take
- Technical Official report from previous race
- Race entry fee
- Facilities such as showers, changing rooms, parking etc.
- Post race meals
- Prompt payment of race fees in 2012 and return of documentation & race results to TI
- If a club, full quota of club members who attended Technical Official (TO) training and officiated at races in 2012
