Bodypower 2013 gets boost from independent gyms and industry visitors

The organisers of the BodyPower expo have noted a dramatic increase in the number of gym owners & industry professionals at the show; and for 2013, 1 in 4 of the 40,000 visitors are expected to be from the trade.

As a result, BodyPower made the decision to introduce a dedicated Industry and Preview Day. This takes place on 17 May 2013 and  sees Bodypower welcome trade & industry colleagues along to experience the BodyPower platform, which will showcase the UK’s fitness industry via educational feature areas and hundreds of cutting edge products.

Traditionally home to the world of bodybuilding and mixed martial arts (MMA), BodyPower confirmed in December that it has added ‘Endurance City’ and expanded its remit to endurance sport for 2013.

Bodypower - Endurance City powered by 220 Triathlon

Taking place on 17-19 May 2013, BodyPower has partnered on Endurance City with leading UK triathlon mag 220 Triathlon. This new endurance focused area of the show is building on the BodyPower strength and fitness challenges that have proved popular with show visitors in recent years.

New for 2013, Endurance City competitions will include an indoor triathlon, complete with an Endless Pool; a WATT Bike power output challenge; and a concept two rowing championship.

Independent Operators Unite
In a recent coup for BodyPower, the IOU (Independent Operators Unite) has also made the decision to relocate and join the UK’s biggest fitness expo at Birmingham’s NEC in May 2013. Hundreds of independent gym owners and decision makers will join the annual gathering to participate in an IOU forum of educational seminars dedicated to helping to improve their businesses.

Playing host to this IOU collective is seen as a massive boost for the newly evolved Bodypower Industry and Preview Day. The organisers note that this creates an ideal stage to network with like-minded individuals and help to understand what it is the consumer wants & needs when they embark on any sports and fitness related activity.

Companies such as Cybex International, Jordan Fitness, Exertrain, Star Trac plus many others will make up the interactive exhibition and offer visitors an opportunity to see how their equipment or products could work in gyms, benefit business operations and increase secondary spend revenue.

From an educational perspective ‘The Academy’ and ‘The Supp Store’ will offer seminars on high level topics in all aspects sports performance, from biomechanics to nutrition. Here, industry professionals can enhance their knowledge on the use of supplements alongside a variety of training regimes from a programme of high level guest speakers.

The Super Gym is another new feature for BodyPower for 2013 and offers visitors the opportunity to not only hear from world class athletes as in previous years, but with a full Exertrain gym install, visitors will now have the opportunity to see world class bodybuilders, leading international trainers to the stars and other high level athletes demonstrating a workout.

For gym owners and industry professionals Bodypower is positioned as a perfect opportunity as, leading equipment manufacturer and supplier, Exertrain will showcase how gyms are changing with a shift in focus to… more space for free weights, functional training, rigs, astro turf for plyometrics, strength and conditioning along with cable machines and other key pieces of kit within the best gyms worldwide.
