Iron Girl has confirmed the expansion of the popular women’s endurance event series to include a women’s triathlon in Lake Zurich, Illinois. The debut of the one-third mile swim, 14-mile bike and three-mile run triathlon will be on 16 June 2013 and will take place in Paulus Park, which is the centrepiece to the beautiful Village of Lake Zurich, located less than an hour from downtown Chicago.

With all these visitors, Lake County businesses should see a huge economic impact for their communities.”
The event offers unique event amenities. These include: a post-race full catered breakfast café (featuring linen-covered tables and flower centre pieces), custom finisher medals, jewellery awards, personalized race bibs (featuring each participant’s first name), performance shirts sized for women, post-race giveaways and more.

Launched in 2004 with just two races, the Iron Girl Event Series has grown to include 13 events nationwide, varying in distance from 5K to half-marathon, duathlon and triathlon events. With the mission of empowering women toward a healthy lifestyle, Iron Girl has celebrated finishers ranging in age from four to 89 years old, with an average age of 38.
The Iron Girl brand is owned by World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) the company behind the Ironman, Ironman 70.3, 5150 Triathlon Series and IronKids brands.
