The UK’s Leanda Cave, winner of the Ironman 70.3 and Ironman World Championships in 2012, and German triathlete Nils Frommhold, winner of Ironman Arizona 2012, have pledged their allegiance to Canyon bikes. Both pro triathletes will be gunning for the podium in 2013 aboard the Canyon Speedmax CF.
Hailing from Wales, 34-year old Leanda Cave crowned her successful 2012 season with double World Championships – at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Las Vegas as well as the legendary Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. She is the only female athlete in the history of triathlon to win both titles in the same season.
“After my first meeting with the Canyon team I immediately realised just how much time and passion had been invested into the development of the new Speedmax CF,” said Cave.
“The R&D team is very progressive indeed and the feedback received from the athletes flows directly back into the development. For me the most important thing was the first test-ride on the new race machine. It immediately felt unbelievably fast and comfortable. I can hardly wait to start racing on the new Speedmax CF.”
The Canyon Speedmax CF has a variety of possible combinations of stem, base bar, extensions and spacers. This gives the rider full flexibility and an optimized position on the bike. Cave’s Speedmax CF will also turn heads thanks to a distinctive Union Jack design.

26 year old Nils Frommhold secured his first long distance Ironman win in Arizona in an impressive time of 8:03:13. He will continue to compete in middle and long distance triathlon in 2013, with the Ironman World Championship in Kona his primary goal for 2014.
