Following a doubling of participant numbers in 2013, HITS Triathlon Series has confirmed that it will return to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on 8-9 November 2014. With HITS’ ‘a distance for everyone!’ mantra, registration for all distances in Arizona is now open at HitsTriathlonSeries.com.
Voted one of Active.com’s ‘Triathlons to Do in 2013’, the event more than doubled its participation numbers after one year and put Lake Havasu City on the map as a triathlon hot spot. “The volunteer support in Lake Havasu City is second to none and the locale is perfect in beauty and size for a race. Both contribute greatly to the success of this event,” said Mark H Wilson, HITS Race Director.
HITS Lake Havasu City debuted as part of the HITS series in 2012 and offered five distances to triathletes from the south west US and beyond. The HITS Lake Havasu City venue at London Bridge Beach boasts a pristine open water swim, a challenging bike course and an island run.
In 2014, HITS will again offer five distances – Open, Sprint, Olympic, Half and Full – in Lake Havasu City. Due to the popular HITS pricing structure, it is expected that several of the five offered distances will sell out before race day. As an incentive for early registration, all athletes who complete their registration before 5 July 2014 will receive up to 50% off the regular registration fee.
The HITS Lake Havasu City race weekend will also feature a Fitness Expo, which will serve as the gathering place for participants and spectators to interact with local and national sponsors, fitness products, services, as well as event partners.
Those interested in participating in the Fitness Festival can visit the race webpage, or contact Katie Thomas at Katie[at]HitsEndurance.com or +1 845 247 7275.
HITS Triathlon Series aims to produce events that deliver ‘a challenging multisport experience like no other’, featuring five distances geared to the needs, level of training, endurance capacity and personal goals of every athlete.
In addition to providing a product for the seasoned athlete with the Sprint, Olympic, Half and Full distance races, HITS’ Open (entry level) format aims to introduce the sport of triathlon to those who may have never thought that a triathlon was possible for them.
HITS Triathlon Series is approaching the conclusion of its second year of races with the annual HITS Championship taking place on 7-8 December in Palm Springs, California.
HITS also has recently announced its new umbrella company, HITS Endurance, which will organize all HITS Triathlon Series, as well as HITS Running Festivals. HITS Running Festivals will host its third event of the season on 14 December in Austin, Texas, at the famed Circuit of the Americas. Helping to bridge the multisport and running communities together, the forthcoming running event in Austin will also incorporate a duathlon.
HITS Inc is a special events management company primarily focused on producing endurance sports events and hunter/jumper horse shows.
