From the Allgäu to Friedrichshafen, the moving date has been set: in 2014, Eurobike Demo Day will be held directly on the main Eurobike exhibition grounds. The Demo Day for trade visitors and journalists will be held on the Exhibition Park Lot East on Tuesday 26 August 2014, one day before the start of the international bicycle show.
“The test conditions in the immediate vicinity, with the adjacent forest, the dirt roads, and the streets surrounding the exhibition grounds, are very good and make it much easier logistically for both visitors and exhibitors,” said a Eurobike team spokesperson, convinced that it will be possible to continue to offer good test terrain in the future as well.
Many customers expressed the wish to be able to put on Demo Day in the immediate vicinity of their own booths.
“We were really happy in Argenbühl,” said Klaus Wellmann, CEO of Messe Friedrichshafen, who has nothing but praise for the previous Demo Day host in the Allgäu. “Everything was a perfect fit there, and the terrain and surroundings were ideal.”
During the seventh edition of Eurobike Demo Day in August 2013, 147 exhibitors and brands participated (in 2012 it was 133) and presented their newest products. “We were very proud to be able to host the world’s largest bicycle demo event and wish continued success for Demo Day at the new location,” said Joseph Köberle, Mayor of Argenbühl, who is pleased that the connection to Eurobike will remain in the future. “We look forward to presenting Argenbühl and Württemberg’s Algäu in the future at the bicycle travel market ‘Holiday on Bike’ on the public day of the exhibition.”
The relocation of Demo Day is seen to be essential and something that is very much in line with the needs of the show’s exhibitors. The setting up of booths on the exhibition grounds and participation on Demo Day can be better and more easily coordinated.
Due to the shorter distances involved, the work for staff is halved, and many tasks for the companies are simplified, something that is particularly welcome since they are usually so busy one day before the start of the exhibition.
Participation in Demo Day and the trade fair can now be better coordinated. Many exhibitors are convinced that Demo Day can take further advantage of growth potential with this relocation.
“The importance of Demo Day increasingly resembles that of Eurobike itself – both are unique events with participation by the top players in the industry, something that can be found at no other trade fair venue in the world,” explained Dirk Heidrich, Project Manager of Eurobike in Friedrichshafen.
Demo Day is serving as a prelude to Eurobike for the eighth time. The day before the show, top international brands will be presenting the products they have developed for the coming season to trade visitors and the media.
Last year, 2318 trade visitors and 732 journalists from all over the world visited Demo Day to try the latest road bikes, ebikes, recumbents, and folding bikes as well as mountain bikes.
Opening hours
Eurobike Demo Day will be held from 10:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday 26 August 2014, for the first time on the Exhibition Parking Lot East. It is only accessible to trade visitors and accredited journalists.
The international bicycle exhibition Eurobike is open to trade visitors from 08:30 to 18:30 from Wednesday, 27 August to Friday 29 August 29; and from 09:00 to 18:00 on public day on Saturday 30 August.
