Future of multisport retail explored at TBI Conference 2014

The annual TBI Conference 2014, getting under way from 26-28 January, will debate the future of multisport retail and pose a number of questions…

Is the future of multisport retail brick and mortar, or online? Or maybe an omnichannel blend of both? How will the evolution of retail work? What about pricing and distribution?

The retailer panel at the 2014 North American Triathlon Business International Conference in Marina del Rey, California, will aim to explore these questions and more:

  • What advice would retailers give manufacturers about sales distribution and pricing?
  • What are multisport retailers doing to help the sport and, as a by-product, helping themselves?
  • How does a retail store compete in a very competitive and constantly changing environment?

An anticipated lively discussion will be led by Seton Clagget, CEO of TriSports.com with panellists: Lloyd Taylor (Triathlon Lab); Brendan Quirk (backcountry.com); Paul Calandrella (Amazon); and Jerry Cheng (OneTri.com).

These panellists will bring distinctive points-of-view and experience to the discussion; and moderator Seton Clagget will be looking to audience members to lend their voices to the discussion with the goal of providing implementable ideas that conference attendees can take back to their respective businesses.

The 2014 TBI conference is packed full of information and opportunities for everyone involved in the business and sport of triathlon, with a special track of panels specifically for event directors. Some of the other activities for this year’s TBI Conference include:
