With just one month to go until the Triathlon Show opens its doors at Sandown Racecourse in Surrey, UK, the organisers point out that now’s the time to plan a visit. With a jam packed schedule of workshops and seminars throughout the three day event (28 February – 2 March), the organisers are encouraging visitors to book their seats in advance.
Expert coaches, psychologists and nutritionists will be on hand all weekend to share their latest tips. At the 220 Theatre on Friday 28 February (16:.45), athletes can learn from the legend himself, six times Ironman World Champion Dave Scott. He’ll be discussing the 25th Anniversary of the ‘Iron War’ race against Mark Allen – and there’s even an opportunity on Saturday 1 March, 12:45 for athletes to pitch their questions to Dave in a special Q&A session.
Andy Bullock, two-time 220 Coach of the Year, BadTri Club coach and former BTF Coach of the Year will be delivering ‘Seven key sessions for the time-limited triathlete – what, when and why’ helping even the busiest athlete with their training on Friday 28 February at 13:00.
New for 2014 is the Performance and Nutrition zone which will be home to the 220 Hub. Here, athletes can drop-in for a more informal chat with the experts including Andy Sexton from Bike Science who’ll be on hand each day to help ‘find the perfect bike fit’. Total Immersion Swimming will also be offering personalised plans to increase your swim speed.
For a masterclass in sports nutrition, sport scientists Andy Blow and Joel Enoch will be exploring how to keep the body correctly fuelled on Sunday 2 March at 12:45. Clinical Performance Nutritionist, Martin MacDonald will also share his thoughts on intermittent fasting, low carb and paleo diets for triathletes.
According to the show organisers, one last must-do before the event is to sign up for a free TRIplan with the Triathlon Show’s coaching partner – Tri Training Harder. The bespoke plan would normally cost up to £75, plus there’s a chance to win a training holiday to the Algarve.
