For athletes looking for a sprint triathlon to take part in this summer, and one in which all of the family can be a part of, then the Kimbolton Triathlon, which takes place on 19-20 July 2014 could be just the ticket. The Just Racing UK team has put together a weekend itinerary for both kids and adults to take part and ‘try a tri’, within the picturesque settings of Kimbolton School in Cambridgeshire, UK.
The Kimbolton Kids triathlon takes place on Saturday 19 July, and the adult race follows on Sunday 20 July. Both events are suitable for a range of ages and abilities, allowing competitors to take part in a fun and supportive race.
The events consist of a pool-based swim, a cycle on beautiful rural roads, and then a run around the historic grounds of Kimbolton School.
Alan Rose, Managing Director of Just Racing UK said “Year on year the Kimbolton Triathlon is growing in popularity due to its picturesque settings, and safe environment for children to take part, and try out a triathlon. It’s the perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together for the weekend, allowing the children to race on the Saturday, and the adults to race on the Sunday in the sprint event.”
Alan continued “The atmosphere generated at the event is simply fantastic. The course is designed for spectators to see their friends and families throughout the flat and fast course. Our ambition is to allow children from 8-16 years old to gain a taster for the sport. There are a variety of distances dependent on the age of the child.”
