The Kids Are Alright as Zone3 launches children’s wetsuit range

Fast-growing British triathlon brand Zone3 has confirmed the launch of the brand’s much anticipated children’s wetsuit range.

The Adventure range is launched in the wake of increasing participation amongst children in the sport of triathlon, with Zone3 noting ‘a huge uptake in participation seen in the last few years, both in the UK and worldwide.’

Zone3 founder James Lock said, “Be it from visiting tri clubs or attending events, we have witnessed first-hand a huge growth in children’s participation and wanted to give children the same benefits on the swim that adult triathletes currently experience from their wetsuit. We are sure that our children’s suits will be just as well received as our adult range!”

Designed and tested with children in mind, the Adventure range, with 3 different sizes available, is built with the following features:

  • Flexibility – ‘Super stretch 2mm shoulder and arm panels for comfortable and energy efficient swimming. Crucial for children who are accustomed to the freedom of pool swimming.’
  • Less buoyancy needed – ‘Good body position is not a major weakness in children as they are generally more ‘body balanced’ than adults. Less buoyancy built into the legs.’
  • Pro Speed Cuffs – Zone3’s iconic red cuffs designed for ease of removal in transition and to stop children struggling [to remove the wetsuit during transition]. ‘The bright coloured cuffs are also great for visibility in the water.’
  • Durability – ‘A mixture of Speedflo and Smoothskin neoprene is used, designed to be more hard-wearing than other wetsuit materials; ideal if the wetsuit is being passed down.’

Zone3 notes that ‘with some of the best triathletes in the world now choosing Zone3, it looks like the stars of tomorrow now have the perfect opportunity to follow their lead!’
