Pre-Kona live Google+ Hangout with Kestrel Bikes and Andy Potts

Pro triathlete Andy Potts’ 2014 season so far has been punctuated by four huge victories: Ironman 70.3 New Orleans, Escape from Alcatraz (the most wins by any male in the race’s history), Ironman Coeur d’Alene and Ironman 70.3 Calgary.

He’s also tallied a top-5 in the other four events he’s raced, including two runner-ups. According to his bike sponsor Kestrel Bikes, ‘He’s more poised than ever heading into the season and sport’s ultimate test’, the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

Endurance sport fans are being invited to join a live Google+ Hangout with Andy before he catches his flight to Kona. Kestrel will explore the lowdown on his final prep, how he’s feeling heading into the pinnacle of his season, what kind of input he had on the redesigned Kestrel 4000 he’ll be racing, and Kestrel will be taking questions from fans.

Age groupers can tune in live to ask questions, or post a question to the event page. The Hangout is scheduled for next week. The specific date and time are being confirmed. Fans can sign up for updates on the event page.

Injury sidelined Andy Potts last year in heartbreaking, last-minute fashion. Andy heads back to the Big Island with a vengeance. He’s structured his entire 2014 campaign around Kona, has a new weapon at his disposal (the redesigned 2015 Kestrel 4000), and has ‘gotten stronger and stronger as the season’s gone on’. As Kestrel points out, ‘it’s going to be one hell of an Ironman World Championship.’
