Entrepreneur Avrum Elmakis has confirmed the acquisition of Richmond, Virginia-based event organizer, Richmond Multisports (RMS). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In a letter to athletes, Elmakis set out the aims of the newly owned company going forwards…
It is with great excitement that we are announcing new ownership at Richmond Multisports. We have had an incredible 11 years and are thrilled about our prospects for our next 11.
Our new ownership plans to expand our races to make them bigger and better than ever. In addition, we plan to add many more events in 2015 and beyond to become a larger player in the fitness production space.
We are committed to delivering incredible new experiences for you and would not be here without all of you. The existing Richmond Multisports Family team will remain intact and grow to include new members to deliver world-class experiences at our existing and new events. Please make sure to check our race calendar often, as new events for 2015 will be added in the near future.
Our first race is a running race coming up at the end of February called LoveRox. If you haven’t attended this race in the past, it is a must. It’s a great atmosphere with significant prizes for winners of all three categories, both male and female runners. We are expecting several thousand runners this year. After all, who can beat having the Virginia Wine Expo experience right after your run?
Thank you again for your support. We look forward to growing this business with you in 2015 and beyond and continuing to provide world-class events for you to enjoy! Our team will be in touch soon with new happenings, new locations, and updates!
