The Brownlee Tri has announced that Macmillan Cancer Support will be the Official Charity Partner for the 2015 event at Harewood House, Leeds, on Saturday 26 September. Back for another year, the Brownlee Tri offers super-sprint and sprint courses on closed roads, almost all within the grounds of the Harewood estate.
It offers the participants the best of the Yorkshire outdoors, along with the chance to meet Alistair and Jonny Brownlee before or after their race.
Entrants interested in taking part in the Brownlee Tri for Team Macmillan can sign up via the Brownlee Tri or Macmillan websites, and choose between two fundraising options:
- Take part in the Brownlee Tri in one of Team Macmillan’s guaranteed free places. There will be no entry fee when registering, but the charity asks that the following is raised in sponsorship –
– Individual Super-Sprint or Sprint – £300 minimum fundraising target
– Team Relay – £500 minimum fundraising target - Sign up and pay for entry into the Brownlee Tri as normal, but tick the Macmillan box when registering. This enables the athlete to be part of Team Macmillan and start fundraising to their own target.
Whether athletes sign up to the Brownlee Tri with their own place or via a Macmillan guaranteed place, all will be provided with the same level of support. This will include a dedicated triathlon training and fundraising guide, regular e-newsletters packed with training and fundraising advice and a free Macmillan vest or t-shirt to wear on race day. Team Macmillan athletes will also be supported on race day by regular Macmillan cheer points along the course.
One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest fight most of us will ever face. Macmillan provides practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. By joining Team Macmillan in the Brownlee Tri athletes will be helping to support people and their families living with cancer.
