On, the innovative running shoe company built on patented Swiss technology, has officially opened its first office in Asia. The office is located in Yokohama, 40 minutes from downtown Tokyo. On is available at 37 retailers in Japan, including the well-known stores Odakyu Department Store and Victoria Wardrobe.
“On strives to provide the worldwide community of running enthusiasts with a new running sensation – to run on clouds,” said COO Marc Maurer. “Since its founding in 2010, international expansion is a key element of the strategy of On. Japan is one of the largest markets in running and to run is deeply rooted in the culture of Japan, which is also reflected in the significant number of top international runners.”
He continued, “In the Japanese market, which has a strong bias to technology and design, the demand for On running shoes was enormous even before the opening of the new On office. Japan will make a significant contribution to the future growth of On and will be the starting point for the consistent implementation of the Asian strategy.”
The current On collection includes the award-winning performance model Cloud, the popular Cloudsurfer, the stable Cloudrunner, the starting model Cloudster and the Cloudracer competition model.
