The Jenson Button Trust Triathlon has announced that one of the world’s most prestigious chefs, Gordon Ramsay, has been confirmed to compete at the event in Markeaton Park, Derby, UK, on 12 July.
Being a keen triathlete and IRONMAN competitor, Ramsay will be lining up alongside the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion and a host of amateur, professional and first timers, all to help raise money for The Jenson Button Trust and Cancer Research UK.
The event organisers have today also released early details of what will be available to competitors and spectators alike in the Event Village in Markeaton Park.
Attractions will include a Mobil 1 Pit Stop Experience, F1 Simulator, Athlete Recovery tent, Huub retail stand, Bike Maintenance and much more from brands including Santander, Rudy Project, Swim Smooth, the National Trust, 220 Triathlon Magazine and Percol Coffee.

With more first time and amateur triathletes signing up than ever before, the Jenson Button Trust has today released two videos to help answer questions and address queries new competitors may have. Starring amateur triathlete Catherine Gualdino Maule, the videos cover a range of topics.
Competitors will get the chance to race twice on race day, with the preliminary heat consisting of a 200m lake swim, 11K cycle and a 2.5K run. The top performers will go on to the final, 400m swim, 20K cycle and 5K run, with the runners up entering the wooden spoon race.
The Trust is also very excited that for the first time in the event’s history, competitors will race along closed city roads as part of the cycle route, making it one of a very limited number of UK triathlons that have a closed road city centre cycle route.
