UK mass participation events organiser Dengie Events is celebrating its sixth anniversary in 2016 and has put together a schedule of triathlon events for next year, taking place in Essex, England.
The Big East Triathlon takes place on 15 May 2016 in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex. This popular early season event gives athletes a choice of Middle Distance (1.6K swim / 82K cycle / 20K run) or Challenge Distance (800m swim / 43K cycle / 10K run) and is open to individual athletes and relay teams.
The organising team notes that the Big East is set in an ideal location for triathlon; ‘it is well suited to anyone preparing for the season ahead or in search of a new challenge.’
The Fambridge Yacht Haven Half Iron Triathlon takes place on 17 July 2016 near to Chelmsford, Essex. This welcoming and spectator friendly event sees athletes take on a 1.9K river swim next to Blue House Farm Nature Reserve, a 90K cycle in the peaceful Essex countryside and an 18K run around North Fambridge village.
The Maldon Triathlon takes place on 31 July 2016 and Dengie Events is expecting entries to fill fast. The beginner friendly Maldon Triathlon is based around the Promenade Park and Hythe Quay over the Sprint and Olympic distances.
The event consists of a 750m / 1.5K river swim alongside the promenade, 28K / 45K cycle on the quiet and scenic roads of the Dengie peninsula and finishes with a 5K / 10K run entirely based around Promenade Park.
With plenty of facilities for the whole family, activities throughout the day and numerous cafes lining the route, the event ‘always draws a large crowd of spectators and provides a great atmosphere for all.’
