The TOUGHMAN Half Iron series has announced the addition of its second international race, the TOUGHMAN Mexico Fuga de Isla de Sacrificios Half Iron triathlon, to the TOUGHMAN Half Iron series.
This established race will take place in Veracruz, Mexico on 2 April 2017.
Qualifiers from the TOUGHMAN Mexico Fuga de Isla de Sacrificios triathlon will be able to compete in the TOUGHMAN Half Iron International Championship in New York in 2017.
“Adding the TOUGHMAN Mexico Fuga de Isla de Sacrificios triathlon to our series means that athletes from Mexico and Central America can compete for a spot at the TOUGHMAN New York Championship race in September,” said Richard Izzo at TOUGHMAN.
“We continue to grow in both popularity and the number of races because we represent grass roots triathlon but with a standardized format. Athletes that register for a TOUGHMAN race know that they will get a safe, great race experience at every TOUGHMAN venue. Having a brand that caters specifically to age groupers and families is good for the sport.”

This year’s TOUGHMAN Half International Championship will take place on 18 September at Lake Welch, Harriman State Park (just 20 miles north of NYC). There will be over US$30,000 worth of age group awards and a cash purse of US$4,950 for elite qualifiers that come from all of the TOUGHMAN series races.
