The TOUGHMAN Half Iron series is gearing up for the inaugural TOUGHMAN Chile Antofagasta, a new addition to the expanding TOUGHMAN series in 2016. Taking place in the north of Chile, Antofagasta, a coastal city, will host the first international TOUGHMAN race on 7 August 2016.
Qualifiers from the new event in South America will be able to compete in the TOUGHMAN Half Iron International Championship in New York, which takes place on 18 September 2016.
“Our series continues to grow in both popularity and the number of races because we represent grass roots triathlon but with a standardized format,” said Richard Izzo at TOUGHMAN. “Athletes that register for a TOUGHMAN race know that they will get a safe, great race experience at every TOUGHMAN venue. Having another brand offer the athletes a choice is good for the sport.”
With 15 locations in North and South America, the team at TOUGHMAN add that the series’ rapid expansion in recent years makes ‘the TOUGHMAN brand the second largest in the western hemisphere’. The brand is the ‘third largest in the world’ [after IRONMAN and the Challenge Family brands].
More TOUGHMAN race locations will also be announced in the coming weeks. Registration for all races is open at TOUGHMANTri.com.
The local event producer for TOUGHMAN Chile Antofagasta is Triatletas.cl – a sports firm specializing in event production, management and corporate sports marketing development in South America.
