UnitedHealthcare continued its fifth year of sponsorship of IRONKIDS races in the United States with the UnitedHealthcare IRONKIDS Boulder Fun Run. Three hundred and seventy young athletes participated on the morning of 6 August at Boulder High School. The IRONKIDS Boulder Fun Run was organised to coincide with IRONMAN Boulder, which took place on 7 August.
This is the fifth year UnitedHealthcare is supporting IRONKIDS in the United States as part of the company’s commitment to help stem the rising tide of childhood obesity through healthy lifestyles. UnitedHealthcare is sponsoring seven one-mile fun runs in 2016.
UnitedHealthcare mascot Dr Health E Hound kicked-off the fun run in Boulder on Saturday, which helps inspire and motivate young people to lead active, positive and healthy lifestyles. Athletes aged from 3 to 15 ran along portions of the Blueprint for Athletes IRONMAN Boulder course. Each athlete received a race bib, t-shirt, goodie bag and finisher medal.
