Fuji Bikes and Oval Concepts will continue their bike and accessories partnership with team Caja Rural-Seguros RGA into the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Fuji-Oval Concepts supplied bikes and componentry to the Spanish team, one of the strongest Pro Continental teams in the peloton, for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Furthering the relationship for an additional two years allows for “continued testing of product at the highest levels of pro cycling,” said Milay Galvez, Manager of Sponsorship and International Marketing for Advanced Sports International, parent company of Fuji and Oval Concepts.

The team raced the ultra-light Fuji SL, the aero Transonic and the Norcom Straight time-trial bike in 2016 as well as outfitting the bikes with Oval Concepts stems, handlebars, seats and seatposts.

“With the extension of our partnership we will continue our successful collaboration on product development as we design the next generation of high-performing Fuji and Oval Concepts products,” Galvez said. “We believe that this combative team is an excellent representative of our brands.”

Juan Manuel Hernandez, General Manager of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, said the partnership with Fuji and Oval Concepts has helped the team to improve and grow into new races. “For us the extension of our partnership means that we are doing things right,” he said. “We have high-quality bicycles and constant support, something that our riders appreciate. Additionally, the team is becoming better known outside of Spain; this is partly thanks to them.”

Over the past two seasons, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has proven to be one of the most active Pro Continental teams by contesting Grand Tours in Europe and races in North America, including winning the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic, which is held in Fuji’s hometown.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the team’s 17 victories in 2015 and 11 in 2016,” Galvez said. “That includes winning Philly two years in a row, the King of the Mountain classification at the 2015 Vuelta a Espana, the GC at the Tour of Turkey and Tour of Asturias and many more.”

Established in 1899, the Fuji brand is one of the oldest surviving bicycle brands in the world. Guided by three core principles – strength, heritage and craftsmanship – Fuji’s steadfast philosophy in utilizing the most advanced technology and incorporating elite athlete input into its high-performance products has enabled the brand to endure.

Fuji offers a complete line of premium bikes – road, specialty, mountain, women’s, kids, urban, transportation, comfort and cruiser – through its network of specialty bicycle retailers across the globe.
