Taking place during 12-14 February 2010, the USA Triathlon (USAT) 2010 Race Director Symposium will bring together race directors from around the US to Colorado Springs and the beautiful Broadmoor Resort for three great days of professional development and networking,.
The event provides an opportunity to connect with other race directors, USAT partner vendors, USAT staff and the risk management team from USAT’s insurance broker ESIX (Entertainment and Sports Insurance Experts).
A high profile line up of keynote speakers includes:
Disney Institute, one of the most successful and recognisable brands in the world presents ‘Disney’s Approach’ to building and maintaining brand loyalty as well as delivering an unmatched customer service experience. This half-day workshop will be on Sunday 14 February 2010.
Johan Bruyneel, 2009 Tour de France Astana Team Manager, will speak on Friday afternoon. Johan will also join the event’s Friday Night Reception. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and he will be on hand to sign them.
Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind man to summit Mount Everest, will be the keynote speaker on Saturday morning.

Meetings with ESIX
Mike Price and the risk managers from ESIX will be on hand to meet with race directors one-on-one during the weekend. Sign up times will become available closer to the event date and will be announced in USAT’s monthly race director newsletter.
Schedule
The event schedule will be posted online by Friday 16 October. There will be keynote speakers, general sessions (to include attendees from the Art and Science of Triathlon International Coaching Symposium) and smaller breakout groups. There will be free time between sessions to mingle with other race directors and to visit the expo area to meet with vendors.
Registration
Online registration will open on 8 October 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time and is US$395 through to 31 December 2009. Thereafter, the fee is US$475 from 1 January 2010 through to 31 January 2010. Additional tickets to the Friday Night Reception can be purchased during the registration process for US$25 each.
Certified Race Directors earn 10 CEUs (Continuing Education Course points) for attending the entire Race Director Symposium.
