CyclingCeramic has extended its accessories range with the addition of a SRAM ETAP cage. The France-based company notes that, by developing larger size pulley wheels, the angle of friction is diminished, and the length of the chain becomes optimal. This translates to a claimed time saving of one minute in a 20 km time trial, a saving of 2.7 watts (tested in laboratory conditions).
CyclingCeramic products have been approved by the Vital Concept, VeranClassic and Saint-Michel Auber 93 professional cycling teams, as well as a number of professional triathletes. Since its beginnings in 2012, CyclingCeramic adds that it ‘strives to guarantee its customers top quality products that are 100% hand-assembled in our workshop in central France.’
CyclingCeramic has completed its range of oversized pulley wheel systems with the ETAP cage specially designed for the SRAM Etap groupset. Available in red, black, silver and limited edition versions, the cage is carbon with titanium screws and aluminium derailleur pulley wheels.
The retail price is the company’s standardised RRP of €329 for ‘a product that carries a two-year guarantee against any faults.’
CyclingCeramic was established in 2012, and was ‘the first French company to design and assemble specific ceramic bearings in France for cycling and almost all frames, pedals, derailleurs and wheels.’ A year later, the young company became a partner of the IAM Cycling professional team (Switzerland) and the Vienna-Futuroscope women’s team (France).
CyclingCeramic collaborations have included the Mattias Brändle hour record on October 2014 (51.852 km), Jérôme Coppel’s third place in the ITT 2015 World Championship, and the Sylvain Chavanel GP Plouay 2014 victory.
CyclingCeramic notes that it will continue to invest for the same goal: ‘improve the performance and durability of bearings for road bikes, triathlon, ITT, track or off-road.’
