Otso Cycles factors in agility with revamped Voytek bike

The Voytek from Otso Cycles is a fat bike that has a focus on agility. Otso adds that it has paired a narrow pedal stance – aka Q factor – with an aggressive XC race geometry to build a fat bike that can handle snowy trails like a mountain bike can handle summer singletrack. The bike has been revamped with a new look and build specs centred on 12-speed drivetrains.

Otso points to qualities that differentiate the Voytek from other fat bikes:

With a narrow Q factor, a rider’s weight is closer to the centreline of the bike. This is important when cornering because it allows for tighter, responsive control. Otso notes that the wider Q factor found on most fat bikes spreads out pedals and creates a floppy, unstable feel… ‘With the Voytek, you don’t need to compromise agile handling to ride up to 4.6” tyres.’

The Tuning Chip rear dropout is at the heart of the Voytek. With a quick change in positions, the wheelbase of the Voytek can be extended or shortened by up to 20mm, which also changes bottom bracket height by up to 4mm. The forward position offers up an aggressive, more responsive feel. In the rear position, there is added stability to make it easier to ride in deep snow or adverse terrain.

Otso adds that it is internally divided as to whether the Voytek is a plus bike that can handle fat tyres or if the Voytek is a fat bike that has the handling worthy of a plus bike… ‘The versatility of the Voytek blends the lines of plus and fat.’
