Event organisers and club committees have until midnight on Monday 31 October to register their events and clubs online with British Triathlon in order to be included in the British Triathlon Annual Handbook for 2012.
The British Triathlon Annual Handbook is distributed to members of the Home Nation Associations, with over 16,000 produced every year.
In 2011 over 800 events in England, Wales and Scotland have or will have been permitted, an increase of 11% on events held in 2010. All events permitted through the Home Nation Associations are demonstrating their commitment to organising, safe, fair and enjoyable events for competitors, and making a vital contribution to the continued growth and success of the sport in the UK.
The list of permitted events each year is an illustrious one, including the Toshiba Windsor Triathlon, Virgin Active London Triathlon, GE Blenheim Triathlon and Dextro Energy Triathlon London, as well as hundreds of events run by clubs, commercial operators and charities.
To register a triathlon, paratriathlon, duathlon or aquathlon event, organisers will need to visit the Event Organisers website. Event organisers can register an event from scratch or copy their 2011 submission onto a 2012 listing.
A deposit of £35 will need to be paid (this does not apply to Scottish events) before the event will appear in the British Triathlon Handbook and website. If this deposit is not paid by Monday 31 October 2011, then the event will not be included in the handbook.
