Cannondale reorganises and Bob Burbank enters as General Manager

Having reorganised its marketing and product management departments, Cannondale Bicycles has hired Bob Burbank as General Manager, effective 15 February. Formerly Global Vice President with Burton Corporation, Burbank’s aim will be to optimise brand growth, drive strategic planning and oversee the development of resources within Cannondale’s category portfolios.

As part of the companywide reorganisation, the Cannondale product management group will relocate from Basel, Switzerland, to Bethel, USA. “The new product management structure will put more focus on our key product categories: Road, Mountain, Recreation/Urban and Women,” said Jeff McGuane, President of the Cycling Sports Group (CSG), parent company of Cannondale.

Cannondale has also appointed Frank Hwang as the company’s new Marketing Director to set Cannondale’s marketing objectives and strategies.

“The new structure will also include a Global Product Director to oversee each major category and a global product manager responsible for the women’s category. Steve Metz will continue to lead the product management group in a Vice President role,” McGuane added.

“Bringing our product management and marketing teams under one roof allows us to think more holistically about the way we develop and market products. We are strengthening the team by developing our internal talent and adding complimentary knowledge and skills to the team. Our final goal is to become a more consumer-insight driven company.”
