Due to continuing challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, the rescheduled IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland events this September have now been cancelled.
The IRONMAN team issued the following statement…
‘When we postponed the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman triathlon from its original date of June 14 to coincide with the IRONMAN Maryland triathlon on September 19, 2020, we felt confident we would be able to deliver an exceptional combined event.
‘Unfortunately, based on further conversations with and updated direction from local authorities in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the health and safety of our community being an utmost priority, the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland triathlons cannot take place in 2020.
‘We are working diligently to finalize 2021 race dates and will communicate updates as they become available. All registered athletes of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland triathlons will be receiving an email with further information

In 2018, IRONMAN confirmed a five-year extension for both events with Dorchester County and the City of Cambridge. This secured the hosting of IRONMAN Maryland and IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman in Cambridge, Maryland, through 2023.
Building on the 22-year history and success of IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman, IRONMAN Maryland was added to the global calendar of events in 2014. Both events tap into the waters of Choptank River for their swim courses and use Great Marsh Park for their transition areas.
