Bar end stash: Muc-Off launches Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug

Bicycle care and maintenance specialist Muc-Off has released its Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug. Positioned as a cleverly hidden puncture tool that’s stealthily stashed in a bike’s bar ends, the expanding silica plugs will fit most MTB, road and gravel handlebar sizes.

The premium CNC machined aluminium bar ends are available in 10 anodised colours that match Muc-Off’s tubeless valves. The company adds that its solution means that riders won’t have to carry anything in their pockets or saddlebags.

“We’re always looking for new ways to make rider’s lives that little bit easier,” said Alex Trimnell, Muc-Off CEO. “Our new Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug is no exception. We’re stoked to offer a tool which is useful for every type of rider.”

A release from Muc-Off added…

‘Each lightweight and durable set contains everything needed to get back riding when stuck with a hole that’s just not sealing: a stainless steel 2-in-1 puncture plug reamer tool, a variety of different sized tyre worms and a trimming knife. And weighing in at just 33g per side, the Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug is a small lightweight solution that offers massive benefits.’

Muc-Off’s move into anodised CNC machined aluminium parts brings the company full circle to where it all began with company’s original X-Lite brand. Back in 1991, Rex and Marilyn Trimnell began designing and manufacturing bar ends, before moving into bike cleaning products.

In recent months, Muc-Off has rediscovered its roots with bike tools that aim to enhance both the rider experience and their performance.

“It’s been brilliant to get back into designing and creating machined parts” said Andrew Syme, Muc-Off Product Design Manager. “And of course, to be able to offer ten amazing anodised colours. We’ve done extensive testing on the Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug with lots of our athletes to create the most useful and durable tools around.”
