Leading online cycle and tri sports retailer Wiggle is continuing its global expansion with the launch of its website in Russian and Chinese. This follows the launch of Wiggle’s Italian and Portuguese sites in September and its Dutch site in July and takes the total tally of sites to 10.
Shoppers are already able to enjoy Wiggle in English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. Five new currencies have also been added to the award-winning site so that payment is now available in Brazilian Real, Chinese Yuan, Swiss Francs, Russian Roubles and Taiwanese Dollars.
With customers in more than 80 countries worldwide, Wiggle works hard to ensure every shopper gets the most from their Wiggle experience, wherever they are in the world. Maddy Riordan, Wiggle’s International Marketing Manager, said “We are delighted to launch our Russian and Chinese sites: Wiggle is committed to ensuring that all of our customers find the site easy and convenient to use.
“We want it to be accessible to customers all around the globe. China and Russia each represent a huge opportunity for Wiggle and we are excited about extending our offering to these important markets.”
She added: “2011 has been a memorable year in Wiggle’s growth and popularity and we look forward to continuing the trend into what will be an exciting 2012.”
For many years Wiggle has enjoyed a strong reputation in the UK – and in the past few years its popularity has spread around the globe. Its international expansion has earned Wiggle several awards, most notably the Cross Border e-Retail title at the prestigious e-Commerce Awards for Excellence last year. Wiggle’s phenomenal overseas growth, coupled with the fact that the majority of shoppers are able to browse in their own language and currency, helped Wiggle seal the win.
The awards nominations are continuing too: Wiggle was recently shortlisted for the Online Retailer of the Year Award at the prestigious Oracle Retail Week Awards 2012. Winners will be announced next March.
