2021 Los Angeles Marathon pushed back to later this year

The 2021 Los Angeles Marathon, the 36th edition of the mass participation event, has been pushed back to the autumn/fall of this year.

Recently sponsored by Skechers, the popular event now has ASICS on board as a presenting partner.

The event was due to take place on March 21, but had been rescheduled for May 23. However, due to the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic, the organising team (The McCourt Foundation) has confirmed that this year’s event will be pushed back to later this year….

To Our Athletes
Given the current state of the pandemic in the Los Angeles area and the pace of vaccine roll-out, the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K, the LABig5K and the Los Angeles Marathon presented by ASICS will be rescheduled to the fall of 2021.

We are currently exploring available dates with our host cities and venues. This process will take some weeks and a decision regarding new dates will be announced as soon as possible. All decisions will be made with the health and safety of all athletes, volunteers, and city officials as our top priority.

We thank our athletes for their understanding, and we look forward to producing exceptional race experiences as soon as circumstances allow, to celebrate a healthier world, and our coming together as a community to support our health causes and programs in a time of great need.
