Spartan has announced Eurofins as its official COVID-19 testing partner. Eurofins, a world leader in clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, food and environmental laboratory testing services, will leverage its ‘SAFER@WORK’ protocols for Spartan and Spartan Trail events throughout 2021.
‘The partnership will ensure Spartan staff have an easy, painless, fast and reliable COVID-19 testing program in place as the brand returns to racing again.’

“As Spartan looks towards a safe return to events, we’re implementing strict measures to reduce risk as much as possible. Every member of our event staff is required to follow a multi-test COVID-19 protocol, and Eurofins will make this process seamless and reliable – while also promoting best safety practices among our community.”
As part of Spartan’s race-day COVID-19 safety protocols for the 2021 season, which include reduced heat numbers and social distancing, every member of the brand’s staff is required to take two tests.
Prior to traveling, staff will take the Eurofins’ empowerDX at-home COVID-19 PCR test. Results are sent via email within 48 hours. Once on-site, Eurofins will facilitate a Rapid Antigen test for Spartan staff. Spartan racers also have the option to purchase the empowerDX at-home tests.
Eurofins launched its first RT-PCR (real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction) test for SARS-CoV-2 on March 13, 2020.
Spartan notes that… ‘Over the last year, Eurofins, has rolled out several highly accurate, FDA-authorized, active infection and antibody assays to thousands of clients.’
With this partnership, Spartan joins a growing list of sports and entertainment brands who rely on Eurofins for COVID-19 testing, including the World Surf League, LPGA, and Invicta FC.
