ZOUMA – a new ‘sustainable, ethical running apparel brand’ – celebrated its launch last night by releasing three impactful men’s and women’s collections.
‘Designed for the eco-conscious runner, the high-performance singlets across the Duo Motion, Volt and Faze collections are all made from 100% recycled material and feature bold, powerful colours and patterns – a step away from the usual dark or plain colourways currently on the market.’
In addition to the tops, runners can treat themselves to a range of caps, socks and a microfibre wash bag designed to catch microfibres from clothes in the washing machine, ‘preventing them from polluting the oceans and wildlife.’
ZOUMA adds that it aims to revolutionise the sustainable running market with sportswear specifically tailored to runners’ needs – providing peak performance, style and comfort.
‘The combination of striking design, high-performance functionality, and reasonable price-point makes this launch a game changer for the UK running scene.’
“With ZOUMA, we’re trying to do something different,” said Wilson Lou, ZOUMA Founder. “There aren’t many wholly sustainable and ethical sportswear brands explicitly designed with runners in mind in the UK.
“Even fewer are willing to think outside the box and go bold with visuals, fit, and function. We’ve had great fun creating the launch collection, and we’re excited for what’s to come later in the year
ZOUMA’s running apparel is made from recycled materials. By collecting plastic bottles from the ocean, the process sees these plastics crushed, melted and turned into fabric. This process claims to use 70% less energy and produce 54% fewer carbon emissions than traditional sportswear manufacturing. ZOUMA’s recycled polyester fabrics are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified.
To bolster its sustainability mission, ZOUMA has teamed up with Ecologi to plant a tree for every product sold.
