Over 9,000 cyclists are expected to take on this year’s Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel granfondo, which features seven mountain passes within the Dolomites.
Held on July 4, 2021, in Alta Badia – and visiting Campolongo, Sella, Gardena, Pordoi, Giau, Falzarego and Valparola – the main event is 138km, with 4,230m of difference gain.
Treviso-based Selle Italia is gearing up for this year’s event, to celebrate 32 years of collaboration.. The company’s CEO, Giuseppe Bigolin, said “Our collaboration with the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel began two years after its birth, and from that moment on, we have always supported this race because we share the same values and the passion for the bicycle.
“[It is] a partnership lasting over thirty years that makes us proud and allows us, every year, to come into contact with the vast international public that pedals through the Dolomites to take part in the marathon.”
On show at this year’s event is the new Model-X Green Superflow, the first saddle born from the company’s Green-Tech production process. This is an automated system, developed entirely in Italy and ‘unique in the world… which makes it possible to obtain high-range saddles without the use of glues and polyurethanes, substances with notoriously negative environmental impact.’
The saddle production process assembles three components mechanically and without the use of pollutant additive substances.
The saddle is comprised of a special body made up of two elements with different flexibility, to ensure comfort. The third component is the rail in Fec Alloy, a resistant and flexible iron-carbon steel alloy.
The Model-X Green Superflow has a recommended sales price of €49.90. It will be on display at the expo of the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel from 1 to 3 July 2021.
