UK & Ireland based charity Samaritans, which provides emotional support to those in distress, is looking for a Mass Participation Product Manager. The role fits within the organisation’s Community & Events Fundraising team and is being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a new role tasked with leading the delivery and growth of Samaritans’ virtual mass participation products.

- £40,000- £43,0000 per annum
- 12-month fixed term contract (end August 2022)
- Home-based initially, then a mix of working from home & the company’s office in Ewell (Surrey)

The Samaritans Community & Events team has more than doubled its income in the last three years and has ambitious plans to continue this growth going forward.
The organisation notes… ‘With the trend for virtual and hybrid events set to continue in 2021/22 Samaritans continues to further invest in this space, to reach new audiences, build a pipeline of new supporters and grow a sustainable income stream for the future.’
2021/22 is seen as a ‘test and learn’ year, building on the product development already begun, whilst developing new pilot activity to build an evidence base and benchmarks that will feed into a longer-term strategy from 2022/23 onwards.
The role
The Mass Participation Product Manager is a new role within the team, created to support this ambition. It’s a one-year contract targeted to build on the success of a flagship mass participation product and expanding on Samaritans’ Facebook Challenges.
