The first-ever edition of Life Time’s The ‘Rad Dirt Fest took place last weekend in Trinidad, Colorado. Off-road athletes either took on the three distances of the gravel race or two distances of the running event while some athletes took on both events in the ‘Purgatory Challenge’.
“It was a thrill to welcome these bike and run athletes to Trinidad this weekend to experience this new event created by Life Time,” said Phil Rico, Mayor of Trinidad. “We hope this is one of many events that come to town and that Trinidad’s outdoor recreation continues to grow and get recognized.”
Gravel Saturday
On Saturday, October 2nd, gravel riders took on the Stubborn Delores Race (165 miles), the Anteloop Race, (99 miles) or The Frijole Race Start (38.5 miles). After a few days of rain, the gravel courses lived up to the dirt fest name.
For the 165 miles Stubborn Delores Race in the women’s division, Lauren De Crescenzo, 31, of Longmont, Colorado. placed first with a finish time of 8:35:03. In the 99 mile Anteloop Race, Ashley Fouts, 45 of Boulder, Colorado, placed first with a time of 5:27:25.
For the 165 miles Stubborn Delores Race in the men’s division John Keller, 24, of Boulder, Colorado, placed first with a finish time of 8:33:05. In the 99 mile Anteloop Race for the men Eli Kranefuss, 24 of Mill Valley, California, placed first with a time of 4:48:44.
Run Sunday
On Sunday, October 3rd, runners enjoyed clear skies as they took on the 50K Lost Mesa Race and 13.9 mile Half Radathon Race.
For the 50K Lost Mesa Race, in the women’s division, Olivia O’Neill, 30, of Boulder, Colorado, placed first with a finish time of 4:34:45. In the 13.9 mile Half Radathon Race, Erin Ladendorf, 36, of Pueblo, Colorado, placed first for the women’s division with a time of 1:50:16.
For the 50K Lost Mesa Race in the men’s division, Caleb Allen, 23, of Durango, Colorado, placed first with a finish time of 4:14:32. In the 13.9 mile Half Radathon Race, Robert Lewis, 26, of Deming, New Mexico, placed first for the men’s division with a time of 1:41:14.
