Sportograf becomes IRONMAN photo & video services provider across Asia, EMEA and Oceania

The IRONMAN Group has announced a multi-year agreement with sport photography company Sportograf to become the Official Event Participant Photography and Video Services Provider for events across Asia, EMEA, and Oceania.

‘Sportograf will expand its footprint with The IRONMAN Group portfolio of events by servicing hundreds of thousands of athletes competing in road running, triathlon, mountain biking, cycling and trail running events.’

Co-founded by Tom Janas and Guido Holz, Sportograf has been photographing sporting events since 2005 and currently photographs over 550 events worldwide.

“We are very much looking forward to the project with The IRONMAN Group,” said Guido Holz, co-founder of Sportograf. “We will unite all our technical achievements to present the athletes with the most beautiful pictures as fast as possible.

“We are excited to bring our passion and quality to The IRONMAN Group family and we look forward to an amazing journey together.”

Sportograf currently provides event photographer services for The IRONMAN Group races such as Ultra-Trail Australia from the UTMB World Series, as well as the Absa Cape Epic, Swiss Epic, Cape to Cape and FNB Wines2Whales mountain biking events, which are all part of the global mountain biking Epic Series.

Sportograf will now expand its event participant photography and video services to events such as the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, the Sun-Herald City2Surf, Tarawera Ultramarathon by UTMB, as well as the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events taking place in Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Oceania.

In all, Sportograf will be providing participant photography and video services for over 140 events in The IRONMAN Group portfolio of events.

“We are very excited to be working with the Sportograf team as they expand their footprint with our portfolio of events,” said Shane Facteau, Chief Operating Officer for The IRONMAN Group.

“With Sportograf’s excellent customer service and high-quality products, we look forward the continued evolution of this relationship as our event portfolio expands in Europe, Oceania, Middle East, Asia and Africa.”

Tom Janas, co-founder of Sportograf, added “The global pandemic has been a terrible experience for the sports event industry, but it has also brought opportunities that we have seized.

“With our online academy we can now prepare new photographers worldwide much faster to meet our requirements.

“As an athlete, I wish all participants and all event organizers of The IRONMAN Group events a positive year in 2022 and can hardly wait to pick up my camera.”
