The Georgia Triathlon Series, Set Up Event’s newest series, has added The Coliseum Health System’s Rock ’N RollMan Half Iron Distance Triathlon, Long Course Duathlon and Sprint Distance Triathlon. Registration for these events is now open at www.setupevents.com.
The Coliseum Health System’s Rock ’N RollMan Half has quickly become one of the US nation’s most recognized races at this distance and has earned several national distinctions from USA Triathlon (USAT).
“After a very successful track record for the past eight years, we are excited to have Rock ’N RollMan be part of the Georgia Triathlon Series,” said Crisp McDonald, Set Up Events’ Production Team Leader for the Georgia Triathlon Series.
“We feel our new association with the Georgia Triathlon Series is going to take the Coliseum Rock ’N RollMan to the next level, and we are looking forward to adding even more excitement to this event which we already feel is the Number One Half Iron experience in the Southeast”, said Jim Rainey, Event Owner and CEO of Georgia MultiSports Productions LLC.
The 2012 edition of the Coliseum Health System’s Rock ’N RollMan will feature a US$4,990 prize purse for the top 5 men and women to split. Details for the individual races are as follows:
Coliseum Health System’s Rock ’N RollMan Half – June 2, 2012 – Macon, Georgia
This half iron distance event will take place at Sandy Beach Recreation Area in Lake Tobesofkee. The swim is a one loop affair and so is the 56 mile bike, which takes participants through Bibb County, Georgia. The bike and run course is best described as rolling with no severe grades but many long, gradual ascents.
Rock ’N RollMan Long Course Duathlon – June 2, 2012 – Macon, Georgia
One of the few remaining long course duathlons in the country, this 5K – 56 mile – 13.1 mile event will prove why duathlon is so tough. Combine Macon heat with the demands of over 16 miles of running and 56 miles of biking and you have yourself a true tester of grit and determination.
Rock ’N RollMan Sprint Triathlon – June 2, 2012 – Macon, Georgia
Consisting of a 750m swim, a 15 mile bike and a 5K run, this is a great alternative to enjoy the beautiful Macon scenery by racing more of a manageable distance.
In addition to the Georgia Triathlon Series, Set Up Events produces and manages 5 other triathlon series throughout 8 states in the mid-Atlantic region. Individual events in each series count toward overall series standings.
