Pro Cycling Stats has become the official data partner of Gran Fondo World Tour. Under this new partnership, both brands will aim to expand activity in the international gran fondo and gravel communities.
Pro Cycling Stats will offer a global ranking for the Gran Fondo World Tour (GFWT) series, for road and gravel riders. This will… ‘engage with all participants and search for the best gran fondo rider in the world.’
In due course, Pro Cycling Stats (PCS) and GFWT add that they will look forward to offer additional services and benefits to the global gran fondo community.
An initial launch prize for the best male and female will be up for grabs, for those who complete at least three events at the 2023 Gran Fondo World Tour series, in road and gravel.
The prize will be a full free trip including flights, hotel and registration for 2023 Gran Fondo World Championship with an award presented after the final GFWT event of the year.
“I think a Gran Fondo ranking is a sublime idea,” said Stephan van der Zwan, CEO at Pro Cycling Stats. “I firmly believe that sooner or later an amateur rider will stand out in this ranking and be offered an (internship) contract with a professional team.”
