Apparel specialist UYN (Unleash Your Nature) has opened the doors of its first UK store in Cambridge, East England. It follows UYN’s expansion of stores across the globe, with new shops recently opening in Germany, offices in the US and planned stores in China and Austria.
Located in the centre of Cambridge on Market Hill, the store will provide customers with a first look at new seasonal collections and the brand’s Biotech product lines.
‘The store will feature the latest offerings from UYN – utilising raw materials and yarns derived from 100% natural sources offering the best performing high-tech apparel, designed for even the most intense sports activities.’
Inside the store, customers will be able to visit the in-house Bio-Lab; an experiential space to discover the natural ingredients chosen by UYN to create its products including kapok, eucalyptus, corn and castor seeds, beechwood and cotton filaments.
Like other UYN stores, sustainability is at its heart. The materials and design have been carefully considered and is in line with UYN’s goal of zeroing its carbon emissions. All furniture is made from high-strength cardboard from sustainably managed forests that is 100% recyclable.
The company adds that this solution helps reduce environmental impact. Compared to wood, use of cardboard means 80% fewer trees are cut down and energy consumption is reduced by 80% with a net decrease in CO2 emissions. Only glues of vegetable origin, are used in assembly.
The opening of the Cambridge store is part of UYN’s wider expansion plans. With 11 stores open across Italy, UYN took its first steps into the American market with a Boston office and manufacturing in Pennsylvania opening in 2022, and the first store in Germany appearing in 2023.
Cambridge is the latest addition and will be followed by three stores ear-marked for opening in Bejing, China and Austria in September.
