The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) has announced that Janet Ng has been re-elected as President, together with a new leadership team, to head up ‘the world’s largest trail running association’ for the next four years.
Janet Ng, who is based in Hong Kong, was re-elected President of ITRA by its Steering Committee. Since 2015, she has been the Treasurer and a member of the Executive Board of the association. In 2021, she was elected President.
Under ITRA’s constitution, the Steering Committee is required to form an Executive Board. The following members of the Steering Committee have been elected to form ITRA’s Executive Board:

• Pól O Murchú (Ireland) – Treasurer
• Enrico Pollini (Italy) – Secretary General
• Amir Ben-Gacem (Tunisia)– Vice President
• Rainer Duespohl (Germany) – Vice President
• Rui Pinho (Portugal) – Vice President
• Robert Watson (Australia) – Vice President
José Santos, a member of the outgoing Steering Committee and Vice-President, will cease to hold office. Ms Katarzyna Melcer will be promoted as Operations Manager.

In particular, thank you to José Santos, our Managing Director, for leading the team in our day-to-day work and his massive contribution to ITRA over many years.”
Ng continued, “ITRA has made real progress in the past decade, and we can now confidently look ahead to our next chapter. For the coming four years, we will continue to develop great services for our athlete members and for organisers.
“We will also focus on deepening our connections with trail running communities worldwide. Most importantly, ITRA will continue to be a beacon for trail running values. We will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders in an open and neutral manner and play our part in steering the sport’s development in a healthy and responsible way.”
Founded in 2013, ITRA (the International Trail Running Association) represents around 150,000 athletes and 3,500 event organizer members in over 160 countries. ITRA is a leading reference organization for trail running globally, providing services to individual trail runners and trail running organizations, as well as international leadership for the sport.
