Strava has announced its Year In Sport 2023 Awards, which recognise athletes and clubs on Strava. The spotlight is being shined on those who… ‘stood out from the crowd and motivated everyone to get active this year.’
Across 12 different categories, the awards celebrate all aspects of the Strava community, from professional athletes to local legends, trailblazers and the ‘must follows.’
Strava noted that each award nominee – whether it’s an individual athlete or club – has redefined what’s possible in the active world.
The Strava community is being invited to check out the nominees online and cast a vote for the ‘Best Follow of the Year’. This is positioned as an award that showcases the athletes whose content everyone just can’t get enough of. Voting for ‘Best Follow of the Year’ is now open and closes on December 12th.
Nominees for ‘Best Follow of the Year’ include:
- Hellah Sidibe: known for his 6+ year run streak, alongside his inspiring & motivational content both on and off Strava.
- Lisa Migliorini: a runner and creator sharing her running journey on Strava, always with a big smile.
- Kayla Jeter: founder of the global running community #100milesofSummer, and the Soho House Chicago Run Club, Kayla Jeter works to bring accessible wellness to Chicago’s South Side by spearheading running and fitness initiatives within the community.
- Average Rob: a content creator, seen as a big motivator for the Strava community, who took on his first IRONMAN this year.
This year’s nominees include athletes such as Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift winner Demi Vollering, who is nominated for ‘Athlete of the Year’, and Latoya Snell, a multi-sport athlete who constantly motivates the Strava community and is nominated for Strava’s ‘Trailblazer of the Year’.
As part of Strava’s Strive for More initiative which is a US$1 million commitment to support women in movement in sport, Strava will also honour the clubs that made a significant impact in the pursuit of improving gender equity and getting more women active this year.
The Year In Sport 2023 Award winners across all categories will be named on December 14th when Strava athletes can also access their personalised Year In Sport to celebrate their own achievements this year.
