Specialist cycling retailer Sigma Sports and trade-in expert Cycle Exchange have announced a collaboration that allows customers to quickly part-exchange their old bike and upgrade to a new one.
In the last couple of years, Sigma notes that… ‘The cost of a new bike has sky-rocketed; whether you’re a casual cyclist or a high-end enthusiast, this partnership is designed to make it easier to buy that new dream bike.’
With a new online Part Exchange tool on the Sigma Sports website, customers can get a price for their old bike in under 30 seconds. The value of this can then be put towards store credit or the purchase of a brand-new bike from Sigma Sports.
The retailer adds that, not only does this initiative have cost benefits but it fosters a more sustainable approach to cycling, promoting a circular economy.
By encouraging the trade-in of old bikes, the partnership aims to contribute to sustainability efforts promoting the reuse and recycling of bikes.
Sigma Sports has a large and unique range of premium products and bicycles that customers can put their store credit towards. This ranges from parts, accessories and clothes to top tier bikes across multiple disciplines.
The new online Part Exchange tool helps customers determine the trade-in value of their existing bike in less than 30 seconds. The process is aimed at being streamlined and transparent. Dedicated cycling experts will be available to guide customers through the process, helping to ensure they make informed decisions based on their individual preferences, riding style, and performance goals.
A collection and delivery service is also available. Here, Sigma Sports’ delivery partner Flamme Rouge will visit a customer and provide a check of an old bike before collecting it and dropping off a new one at the same time.
James McEuen, CEO at Sigma Sports, said “At Sigma Sports, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the cycling experience for our customers. With the ever increasing cost of new bikes, I see it as our responsibility as a steeped-in-cycling retailer to help with that. This is why we’re excited to be the only retailer of scale to offer a solution giving more people access to new bikes.
“Innovation, added value and exclusivity are at the heart of what we do and this partnership ticks all of those boxes. Teaming up with Cycle Exchange allows us to provide a unique and sustainable solution, making it easier for cyclists to upgrade to their dream bikes with a saving.”
Matt Connelley, Founder at Cycle Exchange, added “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Sigma Sports, marking a significant milestone in expanding our offering to a broader retail audience across the UK.
“After years of perfecting our part exchange process, we believe our new Autopricer app to be genuinely revolutionary for the cycling market. The ability to give customers immediate store credit with the exchange happening on their doorstep or instore will give Sigma’s customers even more choice at checkout whilst also maximising value in an increasingly expensive marketplace.”
