The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) and World Triathlon have unveiled Dubai’s Meydan Racecourse and the surrounding area as the host location of the T100 Triathlon World Tour when it visits Dubai on November 15-17 this year.
Delivered by race organiser Falcon and Associates in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Holding, the Dubai T100 Triathlon women’s and men’s professional races will take place at the racecourse – the home of the Dubai World Cup.
The swim stage will be in the Crystal Lagoon swimming complex of the District One residential development, with the bike leg taking in Meydan – which includes the Royal Bridge and the surrounding area.
This location announcement for the 100km course (comprising a 2km swim, 80km bike, and 18km run) aims to showcase Dubai and the T100 Triathlon World Tour. In addition to the elite races, mass participation events provide an opportunity for members of the public to access the facility and its surroundings.
As well as triathlon events, there will also be a range of other participation opportunities offered throughout the weekend, including relays, sprints, youth events, and running. These event offerings will cater to multiple interests, forming an integral part of the 2024 Dubai Fitness Challenge, with registration set to commence later this year.
PTO CEO Sam Renouf said “It’s great to be finally sharing the exciting course details of our first ever event in the UAE, especially the iconic location of Meydan Racecourse.
“The first Dubai T100 will be one of the most anticipated stops on the new T100 Triathlon World Tour, with the greatest triathletes in the world as well as a host of amateurs who will get the chance to race on the same course. With the swim taking place in the amazing Crystal Lagoon at District One, this will surely become a bucket list event for the sport globally.”

Dubai Fitness Challenge was launched in 2017 to support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The goal is to transform Dubai into one of the most active cities in the world, encouraging citizens, residents and visitors to embrace a healthier lifestyle by committing to 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days, with a calendar of activities and events.
The T100 Triathlon World Tour is designated by World Triathlon, the sport’s international governing body, as the ‘official World Championship for long distance triathlon’. The series has a season-long narrative and culminates with the crowning of a women’s and men’s T100 World Champion.
Dubai will be the penultimate leg on the new eight-stop US$7 million global triathlon tour which started in Miami (March 9) and Singapore (April 13-14) earlier this year and visits San Francisco (June 8-9), London (July 27-28), Ibiza (September 28-29) and Las Vegas (October 19-20) before touching down in the United Arab Emirates. Details of the Nov 29-30 Grand Final will be confirmed in due course.
