Brooksee, the event and technology company behind the Las Vegas Marathon, Portland Marathon, Mesa Marathon and REVEL Race Series, has announced a partnership with Every Woman’s Marathon. As part of the tie-up, Brooksee will deploy its Laurel timing technology at the inaugural race.
Every Woman’s Marathon has already sold out and expects a field of over 7,000 runners on November 16, 2024, in Savannah, GA.
Brooksee notes that… ‘Participants and spectators will enjoy live tracking every mile, an enhanced spectator experience and unprecedented IRL audio integrations made possible by the partnership.’
“Our partnership with Brooksee and their state-of-the-art Laurel timing technology underscores our commitment to providing a race experience as dynamic and inspiring as the women participating,” said Miranda Abney, Vice President Of Consumer Marketing at the MilkPEP event team.
“This collaboration enhances the race experience with real-time tracking and motivational audio features and reinforces our mission to put women at the forefront, creating a supportive and exhilarating environment for runners and spectators alike.”
Phil Dumontet, CEO of Brooksee, said “The buzz around the Every Woman’s Marathon is electric and we’re dedicated to ensuring that the participant experience is second to none.
“As we see more and more races utilize our Laurel timing technology, we hope that this elevated tracking experience leaves runners wanting to return to the course next year. It’s all about growing the sport and creating opportunities for the participant and the spectator alike to engage.”
While several other events have utilized Laurel, Every Woman’s Marathon will debut new features. In the Every Woman’s Marathon App, participants can hear motivational messages and on-course audio activations from the five Every Woman’s Marathon Captains, such as Olympic runners Des Linden or Deena Kastor. These will play at designated points along the route.
In addition, the app features a special integration with Spotify and gives runners the chance to hear supporter shout-outs, and motivational text-to-voice messages by friends, family and supporters that will play in-ear as they make their way to the finish line. They can also opt-in to enjoy audio highlights of unique Savannah locations and sites along the course.
With over 100 timing checkpoints along the course, Laurel will provide participant tracking data for spectators. Participants and fans will receive text message alerts and updates at every mile of the race. The timing platform also offers safety features for race organizers, including a ‘back of the pack’ view of the last participants and alerts if participants stop moving after custom thresholds.
