During the month of March, RCS Sport and BKOOL will organise virtual editions of Strade Bianche, Milano Sanremo, Milano Torino and Tirreno Adriatico.
Virtual cycling platform BKOOL and major Italian race organiser RCS Sport have joined forces to offer up virtual editions of the Italian Classics.
With the addition of the virtual edition of Tirreno-Adriatico, each week in March on BKOOL will be dedicated to an Italian classic.
To make virtual racing possible, RCS Sport has recorded the routes of each of last year’s races, minutes before each start. BKOOL’s simulation technology combines high-definition video of the route with 3D elements an immersive riding experience.
The dates of each virtual race have been selected to coincide with the real-world edition, except for the Milano Torino, which will be held a week later on BKOOL.
To participate in each of the virtual experiences, participants will need a bike trainer or a smart bike, and a subscription to the BKOOL virtual cycling platform. All new users of BKOOL’s cycling simulator will be able to take advantage of a 7-day free trial.

Paolo Bellino, Managing Director at RCS Sports & Events, said “We are thrilled to announce this new collaboration with BKOOL, not only related to the Giro d’Italia but also to our Spring Classics, starting with Strade Bianche.
“RCS Sport is always looking for new opportunities to innovate and bring the sport of cycling closer to a wider audience. This project represents an important step in that direction, allowing cyclists of all levels, from anywhere in the world, to feel part of our legendary races.
“We can’t wait to see thousands of fans competing virtually on these iconic roads and experiencing the unique charm of our races, connecting within a single global cycling community.”
BKOOL is also working to involve its ambassadors Óscar Freire and Alberto Contador to accompany participants in some of the virtual races.
Ángel Luis Fernández Sánchez, Marketing Director at BKOOL, added “This is a dream for all cycling fans. We have managed to put our users in the shoes of Pogacar or Van der Poel sprinting on the legendary dirt roads or suffering on every pedal stroke of the legendary Poggio climb.
“All this, surrounded by an international group of cyclists from over 100 different countries. It is an experience that, if you like cycling, will leave you speechless.”
